There's no tougher test of logistics, safety procedures and project management than the remote and resources construction projects, where we've proved our capabilities but we're always happy to undertake construction closer to home.
We've had teams supporting some of the big Brisbane infrastructure projects, like the Gateway Bridge, Clem 7 and Inner City Bypass, where we've built offices for construction companies or undertaken finishing and maintenance.

CASE STUDIES
Our involvement over three years included constructing the main offices and installing site buildings, earthworks, footings, installing structural steel, constructing pre-cast moulds and concreting.
After 2011 flooding washed the road and bridge away, Hawkins Group undertook major repairs, including installing 12 metre culverts. We managed the project to allow one half of the road to take traffic while the other half was completed and to ensure the safe interface between traffic and construction. The project was completed without any loss of production time for the mine and to a tight schedule before the next wet season.
The project included 1000lm of cast in-situ 3m high concrete bund walls, one kilometre of ring road and associated drainage. Also included was the supply and installation of approximately 22,000m2 of HDPE liner for spill containment. Hawkins undertook the management of sub-contractors including electrical and pipe installers as part of the charter. Hawkins Group worked closely with the client Graincorp and consultants NDHA to complete the project safely and on schedule. Construction scope The construction included a range of key components within the facility including: � One kilometre of ring roads catering for heavy vehicles � Equipment and pump shed � 1000 lm of cast in-situ concrete bund walls for spill containment. � Oily water separation pits. � Site wide installation of LLDPE liner for spill containment. � Labour hire to electrical subcontractors and pipe installers
