Hawkins Group are specialists in constructing fuel farms, lubricant facilities, wash bays and maintenance workshops for diesel machinery, vehicles or rolling stock.
We have the skills to design, build and commission these special facilities, including:
- fabricating and installing any specialised pipework
- procuring and installing gas, water and fuel storage tanks and appropriate pumping equipment
- managing tendering and supply of overhead cranes
- installing overhead cranes.

CASE STUDIES
Coppabella Ultra-class Facility
The facility is a single, high-roof workshop with a 25-tonne overhead crane, storage racking and 300 metres of stainless steel pipework. The installation of the crane was meticulously planned for maximum safety, which involved picking it up from the inside rather than the outside. Hawkins Group also designed and constructed a 450 m� extension to the administration building.
PNIA�Nebo Facility
The scope included procurement, delivery, fabrication and commissioning of all equipment and pipelines. Approximately 1000 metres of stainless steel piping, fuel unloading facilities and bowsers were installed. Hawkins Group, on behalf of Transtank, was responsible for the site safety and for zero LTIs during 3300 person hours.
Sonoma Mine MIA
Hawkins Group scheduled the project to begin with the offices so organisation functions had accommodation and then worked on a phased plan to complete the complex fuel, wash-bay and workshop areas with their related tanks and piping. The layout was designed for safety and efficiency during Sonoma�s daily operations.
